Videocast made by myself, Erwan, Sylvain & Hélène
Check out this wonderful video...
Assignement. You won't find any stuff about SpongeBob... But our teacher is called Bob...
This picture, illustrating the fact that I think that our presence on the web is like a castle in war - we must defend our point of view and our visibility, was made by me. So, here are some useful links for my presentation :

d you would give us some opportunities to build up some more attractive things together. For instance, we can realize a video podcast, a common weblog, or some other common works. I think the better way to improve this course is to relax yourself and be confident: do not be silly when there is some noise or movement, it can be useful or actually creative!! The fact is that improving our English or our e-culture is easier and much more interesting when we do it ourselves!!!
"SHTTP means Secure Hypertext Transfer Protocol which is developed by Enterprise Integration Technologies in 1995 to ensure security with commercial transactions on the Internet. A protocol that provides secure transactions over the Web. It is endorsed by a variety of organizations.
An extension to the HTTP protocol to support sending data securely over the World Wide Web. Not all Web browsers and servers support S-HTTP. Another technology for transmitting secure communications over the World Wide Web -- Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) -- is more prevalent. However, SSL and S-HTTP have very different designs and goals so it is possible to use the two protocols together. Whereas SSL is designed to establish a secure connection between two computers, S-HTTP is designed to send individual messages securely. Both protocols have been submitted to the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) for approval as a standard."

For a good definition of cybercrime and identity thefts, see here;
Well what is the point with cybercrime : it is almost a way to stole money to people, with an appropriation of bank ID. But it is also a way to take the identity of an other person (on MSN for example) to steal personal information or to enjoy the perversity of being someone else. Everybody is potential victim.
How can you stop the fraud?
As soon as you are made aware of the fraud (usually a creditor will contact you or you will be denied credit, or you will see charges that are not yours on bills) you must immediately contact the three major credit reporting agencies by phone and letter to put a fraud alert on your credit profile. Get copies of the reports so that you will know which are the fraud accounts, and call the police in the county where the fraud occurs. You may not be able to stop the fraud immediately. It is very complex. But this will get you started. You will get step by step instructions when you order the coaching guide, The Identity Theft Survival Kit to find out what you need to do. You'll obtain copies of attorney-written sample letters to write to all the necessary agencies. The computer diskette has fill-in the blanks form letters to save you hours of retyping. Once you have learned all the facts of your case, write a 100-word statement explaining the situation and have that paragraph added to your credit profile.
Here are some other example of ways to protect yourself against cybercrime.
YouTube is a new easy way of broadcasting videos on the Internet. The deal is you can share funny, curious or amazing videos with your friends and everybody in the world. The really new thing is that it is truly easy; everybody can do it, not only nerds!!! That is, from my point of view, the key of its success.
There is a legend about the starting of YouTube : the conceptors of this website were trying to find out a way to broadcast short videos of a party that they did the evening before. At that point, they realized that it was very hard to put videos on the web, it was a geek deal! The fact is that a few month after that, their website exploded as the really brand new sensation on the Web. (What a story, indeed). Actually, the real official history is available here.
Often, YouTube is just a way to watch some old videos, or new funny stuffs to laugh about it. When I or some friends want to share some videos, it is almost to make a huge joke or to show bizarre or amazing events, like this :
But the question is : is it bankable? Well, I think that you can do marketing or advertising on this kind of Web platform. The other idea is to build up a real social network of future customers, behind a great idea, like a podcast or anything else like this. But I have no real idea about that. The only economical schema about it is : doing publicity around the video (like on the “happy tree friends videos”)
There are many ways to learn and improve english on the web: e-schools, e-learning, often expensive, like in our example. Those are the official way to improve any language. But we can use other way, like wathing downloaded movies in original version - not dubbed, of course ;-), and listen to american, canadian or english podcasts or radio shows -like, for instance, the BBC podcasts... However, my opinion is that the better way to improve our English is to really practice that with strangers. Internet provides us great opportunities to meet exchange students or aliens, and technologies like MSN or, more basically, e-mails, chats or forums permits to easily communicate with our friends. For example, as I go abroad (to Danemark) and my only true link with the met sutudent is the web. This is a pretty good way to improve my english.
Generosity - the core of internet ideology : generosity is the master word on the web, from my opinion. Indeed, the ideology of internet is based on the dream of freedom and exchange. For instance, there is a big phenomenon of generosity around the forum of help, like on computer help forum. Digital problems are often huge, so this kind of help, is for me, really generous: free, helpful and coming from a real community (not based on advertising and marketing)
Discipline: chaos on the web
I do not really think that discipline is a useful concept on the web. The profusion of ideas and concepts, the violence and the sex, and maybe illegal things (terrorism, traffics) meet each other on the web, and I can truly affirm that web is much more based on freedom than in discipline. Please remember that one of the first ideologies of web culture is the ideology of hackers, and of digital piratery. See the novels of William Gibbson – Neuromancer for example, based on this digital mayhem, or WarGame, the first movie about digital webs and based on the image of chaos associated to the Internet -directed by John Badham, with Matthew Broderick, Dabney Coleman, John Wood
Two keys for sucess :
-Patience:
Ho, Jesus, that is deeply true that we all need patience to find out interesting things on the web!!! As I said before, web is based on chaos. Therefore, find really useful information is a real challenge.
-Perseverance : same thing... Everybody need to find out time, patience and perseverance to manage his web travel. The fish wont come easily!!!!
You have got it? No, i am only joking!!! But the fact is that schema express the real way to comprehend stuffs on the web : it is a brain work. In fact, this last (but not least) key word is the addition of any of the four first concept. That is the way to understand if what you have found out is really interesting, like for instance on wikipedia.org
